At the heart of the StudioRef M80 is a bi-amplified design with dedicated 60-watt and 20-watt Class AB amplifiers for the woofer and tweeter respectively. This approach ensures optimal power delivery to each driver, minimizing intermodulation distortion and maximizing dynamic range. The 8-inch long-throw woofer with a rigid aluminum cone handles low frequencies with authority, while the 1-inch silk dome tweeter resolves the finest high-frequency details.

The MDF cabinet is heavily braced and internally damped to eliminate resonances that could color the sound. A rear-firing bass reflex port is precisely tuned for extended low-frequency response down to 38Hz. The front panel features a high-resolution LED VU meter and master volume control, with rear panel adjustments for low-frequency trim, mid-frequency adjustment, and high-frequency trim allowing the monitor to be optimized for different room acoustics.

Connectivity is comprehensive, offering balanced XLR and TRS inputs as well as unbalanced RCA, making the StudioRef M80 compatible with professional and consumer audio interfaces. An auto-standby function reduces power consumption when the monitor is not in use. The StudioRef M80 is sold individually and comes with calibration documentation.
