The NovaTone NT-5 Nearfield Monitor is designed for the modern music producer, podcaster, or content creator who demands accurate, professional audio monitoring without the complexity of a traditional studio setup. This compact active monitor combines high-quality speaker technology with a built-in USB audio interface, streamlining your workflow and eliminating the need for a separate audio interface for most production tasks.

The 5-inch Kevlar-cone woofer delivers tight, controlled bass with excellent transient response, while the 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter provides crisp, detailed high-frequency reproduction. The bi-amplified design uses dedicated 50-watt and 20-watt amplifiers for the woofer and tweeter respectively, ensuring clean, dynamic sound at any volume level. The waveguide-loaded tweeter extends the horizontal sweet spot, making the NT-5 forgiving of off-axis listening positions.

The integrated 24-bit USB audio interface supports sample rates up to 192kHz and appears as a standard USB audio device on both Mac and Windows without any driver installation. A zero-latency direct monitoring path allows you to hear your microphone or instrument in real time without the delay introduced by software monitoring. The front panel features a headphone output with independent level control for private monitoring.

Rear panel connections include balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA line inputs, allowing connection to external audio interfaces, mixers, or consumer source components. Low-frequency and high-frequency trim controls allow acoustic compensation for the monitor’s placement relative to walls and corners. An acoustic foam panel treatment kit is included to help optimize the listening environment.
