The SilkTone ST-8 Studio Reference Monitor is a three-way active monitor that represents the current state of the art in professional audio monitoring. Developed through thousands of hours of acoustic measurement and critical listening sessions with professional mixing engineers, the ST-8 sets a new benchmark for accuracy, resolution, and dynamic performance in its class.

The three-way driver configuration eliminates the compromise inherent in two-way designs, allowing each driver to operate in an optimal frequency range where it performs best. The 8-inch woofer with a cast aluminum basket and long-throw cone handles bass frequencies with authority and precision. The 4-inch midrange driver with a carbon fiber composite cone reproduces the critical midrange frequencies with exceptional detail. The 1-inch ribbon tweeter extends to 40kHz, resolving the finest micro-details in high-resolution audio recordings.

Onboard DSP room correction technology, accessible via a companion computer application, allows the ST-8 to measure its acoustic response in your room using the included calibration microphone and automatically generate a compensation curve that corrects for room anomalies. This ensures that the monitor sounds accurate regardless of the acoustic properties of your studio space.

The amplification system delivers 100 watts to the woofer, 30 watts to the midrange, and 20 watts to the tweeter, all from independent Class D amplifiers with ultra-low distortion. Connection options include balanced XLR and TRS, with AES/EBU digital input supporting up to 192kHz/24-bit audio. Sold individually with a full calibration report.
